Comments

A Care event is an artificial information construct built in the data warehouse to denote key changes to the various source system data which is related to services provided to a Child or Young Person.

Changes may occur when a new element starts, varies or ends; therefore, Events are time based and marked by a start date and an end date. As change happens over time, the data warehouse creates new consecutive non-overlapping events as new rows in the events table.

Though the construct is called Care Events, it does in fact capture and calculate events not related to “care” such as the period a CYP was not in care.
