Comments
The percentage figures refer to the total number of children and young people exiting OOHC by Aboriginality and Age at exit in the reporting period as a percentage of total number of children and young people exiting OOHC during the year.
Data for non-Aboriginal children and young people also includes children and young people with status not stated.
The increase in children and young people exiting OOHC in 2014-15 was due to the introduction of Guardianship orders in NSW on 29 October 2014.
Data ageing:
- Data ageing is two months, unless otherwise indicated. Therefore, the data for this indicator will be available two months after the end of the month in which the data first becomes available.
Data changes:
- From 2022-23, District of Case Management Responsibility has replaced District for disaggregation.
Data limitations:
- In 2017-18 changes were made to OOHC counting rules to better align those with national reporting and to also better reflect the legal status of clients in OOHC. The 2017-18 result for this measure is not directly comparable to the historic data previously published.
Data source:
- KiDS – Corporate Information Warehouse (CIW) for annual data up to 2016-17
- ChildStory – Corporate Information Warehouse (CIW) for annual data from 2017-18.
