Comments
Assistance Needed is derived from a DSS reference table (see fdp-child-protection-prod:tei_bdm.tei_ref_assistance_needed) with a primary key to look up whether clients are in need of specific services, either internally or externally. There are 12 services clients can be in need of, and more than one service may be needed at any given time. Each value in the Assistance Needed table is a binary value representing yes or no. The key is a value (integer - the sum of the binary value attributed to the service column) representing the different combination of binary values across different reason code. For example, the ASSISTANCENEEDEDKEY value 6 means the reason has a 1 (i.e. yes) in the Training and Employment columns and for all other reasons they have a 0 (i.e. no):
The following table reveals the value associated with each service needed and by 1 (yes) or 0 (no) in the relevant service column:
A combination of services is represented by the sum of related binary values - eg the services of MATERIAL and FAMILY is represented by 3072 (ie 2048 + 1024)
